Police are investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area near Falls Lake in Wake County Saturday evening.

<b>WAKE COUNTY, N.C.</b> — Police are investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area near Falls Lake in Wake County Saturday evening.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a deceased person in a wooded area near Falls Cove and Durham Road on Falls Lake at about 5:45 Saturday. Two people who had been fishing nearby had discovered the body in the woods, said the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

The body has been sent to the Medical Examiner's office for identification and Sheriff Donnie Harrison said that the body may possibly be that of a missing person from Durham County.
