Body found in Fuquay-Varina identified

Fuquay-Varina, N.C. — Police have identified the body found Tuesday in a ditch along Lawrence Street in Fuquay-Varina.
Police said they are investigating the death of Sandra Denise Thomas, 41, as a homicide. The cause of her death has not been determined.
Authorities said someone working in the area found Thomas in a ditch and called police.
