Body found along Hope Mills road
Investigators believe that a person found dead along a road outside Hope Mills Thursday night was struck and killed by a vehicle, according the Cumberland County Sheriff's office.
Posted — UpdatedHOPE MILLS, N.C. — Investigators believe that a person found dead along a road outside Hope Mills Thursday night was struck and killed by a vehicle, according the Cumberland County Sheriff's office.
Spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said the body was found at Woodington Road and Monticello Avenue shortly before 10 p.m.
The identity of the victim hasn't been released.
The state Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation into the hit-and-run, she said.
