Bluegrass moves Calif. man to N.C. mountains

David Holt grew up in California but was so enamored by old-time and bluegrass recordings that he moved to North Carolina and made it his mission to absorb himself in the music of the mountains. For years, he has played alongside Doc Watson. He has recorded records and hosted several folksy television shows. He plays 10 different instruments and has performed around the world. He will also perform at a bluegrass festival in Raleigh this weekend.
