RALEIGH, N.C. — Stores can feel like a jungle on Black Friday, with shoppers on the hunt for deals that stores have been promoting for weeks.

At the Best Buy at Crabtree Valley Mall, discounted large-screen TVs lined the aisles.

The deeply discounted doorbusters went fast.

“There are a lot of deals still, but the great ones are already gone,” Jeana Mallard said while shopping.

But Melanie Newkirk didn’t give up.

“I came out with my brother in order to find a TV that was on sale,” she said.

Many shoppers said that after braving the traffic and crowds, they would continue shopping online.

“This year, I will probably shop online,” Mallard said. “This is probably it for me in the store.”

Beth Toland said while she would be doing a lot of online shopping, she came to stores on Friday for more than deals.

“It is just about the fun of being out with all the chaos and getting yourself starting to think about the holidays,” she said.
