Blowing Rock is the perfect antidote for the heat and humidity of August.

BLOWING ROCK, N.C. — Blowing Rock is the perfect antidote for the heat and humidity of August. This charming mountain village is also a wonderful place where fresh ideas are often born.

This was my first retreat as a board member of the Conservation Trust for North Carolina. I am deeply honored to be a part of this organization known for its “courageous conservation.”

CTNC has been serving the state for nearly three decades. With generous help from donors, we’ve already protected more than 35,000 acres of wild and scenic areas, many of them along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We will continue that important work in the mountains. We are also striving to build resilient, just communities statewide through conservation priorities.

CTNC recognizes the many challenges of climate change and the need for more collaboration and inclusive conservation. We want to help create a North Carolina that is ready for any environmental challenge.

The way to do that is by investing in the power of people.

You can learn more about CTNC by visiting our website.

In the meantime, enjoy a cool taste of mountain scenery with my latest music video from Blowing Rock.
