GREENSBORO, N.C. — President Joe Biden is visiting North Carolina on Thursday to discuss inflation and infrastructure.

Air Force One is expected to land at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in the afternoon. Biden will then travel to North Carolina A&T University to speak about "his administration's efforts to make more in America, rebuild our supply chains here at home and bring costs down for the American people," according to the White House.

Biden is expected to deliver remarks at 2 p.m. after a tour of the nation's largest historically Black college.

The event will not be open to the public.

Axios reported that Biden is planning on pressuring Congress during his speech on Thursday to pass an "innovation and competition bill that would boost the semiconductor industry."
A WRAL News poll released Monday found most North Carolina voters disapprove of the job Joe Biden is doing as president. Around 14% of registered voters in the state somewhat disapprove of Biden whereas 41% strongly disapprove of him.

Some 42% approved of the job Biden has done with 18% strongly approving and 24% somewhat approving. Only 3% weren't sure.

Biden last visited North Carolina in November 2021, where he and the First Lady met with Fort Bragg troops for a Thanksgiving meal.

Political analysts suggest that the most persistent issue facing democrats in the 2022 midterm elections is inflation.
Biden's visit comes less than a week after Republican party leader and former President Donald Trump visited Selma.
