DURHAM, N.C. — The Durham County Sheriff's Office came to the rescue Tuesday afternoon when several ducklings fell into a storm drain on William Penn Plaza.

All the ducklings that fell were OK. They were able to let the experience "roll off their backs like water," according to deputies.

The sheriff's office said the ducklings were "reunited with their momma before she went quackers with worry."

Deputies added that people who see an animal in distress should call the sheriff's office, but if they don't appear to be sick or injured then take a moment and enjoy the animal before leaving it be.
