The Hunger Games and An Ember in the Ashes"--and Escaping Ordinary (Talespinners #2), which is for readers of The Land of Stories and The Phantom Tollbooth.
In a twist of fate for the author, the day before his books were released, he had a tweet go viral:

"My son found a chocolate wrapper this morning and started interrogating me about it. I realized my wife and I basically run an underground speakeasy from 8-11 every night and we’re trying not to get caught by our two toddler landlords."--@

This tweet has garnered 136,000 likes and over 7,600 retweets.
Of the tweet, Scott says:

"It was hilarious, perfect timing. My wife and I haven't stopped laughing since it happened. For me, writing and parenting go hand-in-hand. On our first date, I told my wife I planned on writing books for every age my kids would be (a bold promise). She held me to that. Which means when I write, I'm writing for my boys--and for the students they'll be one day.

Escaping Ordinary is about a crew that gets trapped in one big video game. Bloodsworn imagines a world with phoenix horses and trickster gods. I wrote both of them knowing that my boys--and other young

readers out there--might have the same experience I did as a kid. They might be hesitant readers who don't feel like books are for them. My stories are invitations for those readers. So it's only appropriate that my first viral tweet was about parenting, because I'm just a dad who's imagining other worlds for my two readers to jump into one day. Your readers? They don't have to wait. They can jump into those worlds now. And while they've got their nose in a book? I highly suggest you sneak a few of those chocolates you've been saving up."

In a long-standing partnership with Quail Ridge Books, Scott often visits schools in order to spread his love of writing to kids.
