Ben Folds, Jaki Shelton Green lead 'Big Night In for the Arts' lineup
WRAL has teamed up with arts councils from Chatham, Durham, Orange and Wake Counties for a live event on March 10 to help benefit the arts community devastated by the coronavirus pandemic.Posted — Updated
The event will feature performances from local and national talent, including Ben Folds and Poet Laureate of North Carolina Jaki Shelton Green.
The one-hour show will also address the impact of COVID-19 on the arts and highlight the missions of the four organizations that lead and support the Triangle's arts infrastructure.
The lineup for "Big Night In for the Arts" also includes dancer Jabu Graybeal, Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist Nnenna Freelon and Americana folk band Hiss Golden Messenger. There will also be a behind-the-scenes tour and demo from Pittsboro pottery maker Mark Hewitt. He will showcase what it takes to create one of his works of art and viewers will be able to bid on the finished piece after the show airs.
