Skies will be mostly clear Saturday, but an incoming cold front could bring showers and storms Sunday evening.

That system will be fast-moving, though, and Sunday night will be quiet.

Saturday’s high will be 88 degrees, and Sunday will reach 89 degrees.

Humidity levels should be relatively low for summer on Saturday as dew points stay in the 60s.

Next week will see similarly warm temperatures, with highs getting up to the lower 90s on Thursday and Friday.

A tornado watch has been issued in our northern counties. This will go until seven o'clock though I do expect the national weather service should be able to end this watch a bit early. The watch does not include the triangle but it does include 10 of our northern counties, Roxboro Henderson, as well as Rocky Mount are included in this watch again, that expires at seven o'clock as of right now. I think our main window of concern will last until five o'clock, damaging wind gusts and large hail are threats for areas that aren't included in the tornado warning as well. So keep that in mind just because you're not in the tornado warning doesn't mean that you won't see severe weather today. The tornado warning just includes the area that has the best chance of an isolated tornado. We're starting to see storms fire. We should continue to see thunderstorms fire up and move through, especially the eastern half of our viewing area between about two pm and five pm. This evening is the window with the greatest threat. I am seeing signs on some latest model data that there is an increasing threat for some hail to form. Keep that in mind that you may want to cover your car under a parked area if possible.
