The annual Beats n Bars Festival will return to downtown Durham this week with a series of events.

DURHAM, N.C. — The annual Beats n Bars Festival will return to downtown Durham this week with a series of events.

This year's lineup includes live and virtual performances, an art walk and movie screening at various locations. New this year is a “Wellness for the Culture” panel session presented by non-profit "Get Happy," which aims to restore the quality of life for people of color through health and wellness, innovative education, and community driven engagement.

Admission is free for most events, but tickets are required for some sessions.

The 2021 Beats N Bars Festival Schedule:

Thursday, June 24

  • The Listening (Virtual event) at 7 p.m.
Friday, June 25
  • 7:30 p.m.: Pass the Aux Producer Showcase at Boricua Soul, 705 Willard St., Durham
  • 7:30 p.m.: Candid Yams Movie Kickback Movie Series presented by PNC Bank and Durham Bulls Baseball (Creed 2)

Saturday, June 26

"Wellness for the Culture Session"

  • 8 a.m.-9 a.m.: TJ’s Boot Camp at E.K. Powe Elementary School (admission $10)
  • 9:30 a.m.-10 a.m.: Boost up Vegan with Chef Amelia at Triangle Coffeehouse (714 9th St., Durham)
  • 10:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m. : Be Mindful featuring Raven Gibbs at Triangle Coffeehouse (714 9th St., Durham)
  • 11 a.m. to noon: Culture Code Presented by Momentum at Triangle Coffeehouse (714 9th St., Durham)
"The Pillars"
  • 1-3 p.m.: Hip Hop is Art (Art Walk) at Cypher Arena at Lot 8 (215 E. Parrish St., Durham)
  • 4-6 p.m.: 16s Not Enough (Freestyle Event) at Cypher Arena at Lot 8 (215 E. Parrish St., Durham)
  • 8 p.m. - Until: The Set with Artist Performances by Ali Muhammad, Kueen, Kaze, Shame Gang, and Burn Bright at Cypher Arena at Lot 8 (215 E. Parrish St., Durham)
