Beach umbrella, track loader named 'Coolest Things Made in NC'
In its third year, the annual contest spotlights the state's manufacturing industry.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Compact Track Loader and an all-in-one beach umbrella are this year's "Coolest Things Made in NC."
Construction machinery and equipment manufacturer Caterpillar's Cat 299D3 XE Compact Track Loader is made in Sanford. The product was voted the "Coolest Thing Made in NC" by a medium-to-large business during the annual awards presented by the North Carolina Chamber.
In its third year, the annual contest spotlights the state’s manufacturing industry.
The beachBub All-In-One Umbrella System was the winner in the small business category. The beachBub is made in Greensboro.
A total of 46,000 votes were cast throughout the competition. It began with 80 finalists and winners were awarded after three rounds of voting.
