FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A former student entered E. E. Smith High School in Cumberland County Saturday, where students were in class making up a recent snow day, and fired a BB pistol at the wall near the principal's office.

Surveillance video showed Antionwan Haskins, 17, of the 600 block of Walker Street, fired a second shot, damaging the principal's car, in the school parking lot before he ran from the property.

Haskins' mother brought him back to the school to surrender, and he was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, disorderly conduct, disrupting students and injury to personal property.

Patricia Hollingsworth, public information officer for the school system, said no students were ever in danger.

The school was briefly put on lockdown while law enforcement officers investigated.
