NEW YORK — Cuban bakeries in Miami offer pastries, breads, sandwiches and those wonderful pre-smoothie-era confections, tropical fruit batidos. Ricardo Barreras, a restaurateur who is from Miami, opened his Pilar Cuban Eatery in Brooklyn nineyears ago. Soon his Pilar Cuban Bakery next door will be ready to sell savory and sweet specialties, including croquettes and empanadas, Cuban tamales filled with pork, Cuban bread, café con leche and batidos.
