Bank robbed in north Raleigh

Police said Wednesday that they were searching for a man who robbed a PNC Bank branch in north Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police said Wednesday that they were searching for a man who robbed a PNC Bank branch in north Raleigh.

The man walked into the PNC branch at 4000 Capital Blvd. at about 12:15 p.m., handed a note to a teller implying he was armed and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The robber is described as white, in his 20s to 30s, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build. He had a “scruffy” beard and a pierced left ear. He was wearing a dark-colored shirt, jeans, cap and aviator sunglasses.

Anyone who thinks they might recognize the robber or who recalls seeing him before or after the bank robbery is asked to call Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-HELP.
