It’s a big, historic year for the town of Bailey
BAILEY, N.C. — In a handwritten note delivered by fax last week, John A. Ennis resigned his position as police chief in the Nash County Town of Bailey.

Ennis did not give a reason in the short note, which was delivered to town hall on April 14 at 9:30 a.m.

Town Administrator Timothy Johnson convened an emergency meeting of the town's governing board that day, and they decided to name an interim chief, although Johnson's notes do not indicate who that will be.
