Baby Steps: Let me eat cake!
Christine ushers in a lackluster birthday on the job.
Posted — UpdatedMy twenties are numbered! This Saturday I will officially have just one year left to enjoy being a twenty-something, young and vibrant person, in the prime of my life. Or so they say.
While turning 29 is nothing extraordinary in my eyes … it now has a special meaning. I’ve got a year left before – the books and experts say – my body starts taking a turn. Technically, I know 35 is the big benchmark as far as numbers go. But, after talking to doctors, it seems the "two" at the beginning of my age means potentially very good things for our baby making prospects. And I’d like to take advantage of that.
We don’t have any big celebration plans this year. I’ll actually be at work helping with coverage for the Battle of the Blues. I don’t think I’ll mind too much. I’m a Terp at heart. So I do have a link to the ACC and I was in school when we won the national championship. That helped engrain a love for college basketball in me. Luckily for both of us, my husband also shares the same adoration (though it meant a bit of turmoil during last year’s March Madness … he is a former Butler Bulldog!). Since there’s not much to gloat about this year for Maryland, I’ll leave it to the local teams to keep me entertained.
Next year I hope we’ll have lots to celebrate – on top of my crossing over into the 30s!
