HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The autopsy of a truck driver killed on Interstate 85 in Orange County in September shows "acute intoxication" as a contributing cause to his death in a fiery crash.

Daniel McNeal, 51, of Exmore, Va., died in the crash and fire that closed I-85 near North Carolina Highway 86 for much of a day.

The N.C. 86 bridge was also closed for days while state Department of Transportation crews assessed structural damage to the overpass.
