Authorities seek Weldon man on rape charges
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office was searching Wednesday for a Weldon man wanted on two counts of first-degree rape and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

WELDON, N.C. — The Halifax County Sheriff's Office was searching Wednesday for a Weldon man wanted on two counts of first-degree rape and one count of indecent liberties with a child.
Robert Earl Smith, 43, was last seen on Aug. 17. He may be driving a dark-colored Ford Fusion with license tag BCP 1164.
Anyone with information on Smith's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at 252-583-1991 or Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444.
