Authorities in Nash County set to make 52 arrests in Operation Silent Night
The Nash County Sheriff's Office, with help from other local authorities, was set to make 52 arrests on Wednesday in "Operation Silent Night."
Posted — UpdatedAccording to Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone, "Operation Silent Night" was the culmination of six months of undercover work.
About 30 to 35 people authorities were looking to arrest face heroin-related charges.
"In my opinion, a drug dealer is a violent offender," Stone said. "When you're dealing heroin, you're dealing death."
Stone said the Nash County community takes the ongoing opioid crisis very seriously.
"What we're seeing now is the opioids and the heroin are killing more people than any of these other drugs," he said.
