Authorities: Holly Springs man threatened to shoot up sorority at Campbell

A Holly Springs man is accused of threatening to attack a sorority house at Campbell University, authorities said Tuesday.

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — A Holly Springs man is accused of threatening to attack a sorority house at Campbell University, authorities said Tuesday.

Colin Daniel Nicolson, 23, was charged with communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property.

Authorities said Nicolson threatened to shoot sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority with an assault rifle at a Feb. 11 sorority event. He is acquainted with some of the sorority members, authorities said.

Nicolson was arrested at The Club at 12 Oaks, a country club in Holly Springs, according to police records. His Facebook page indicates he is an assistant golf pro at the club.
