Authorities don't know if Fayetteville man a victim of foul play
Medical examiners have been unable to determine whether a Fayetteville man's death in January was a homicide or not, according to an investigative report released Friday.
Posted — UpdatedJosephus Davis, 63, was found dead in his home at 576 Braxton Blvd. on Jan. 28.
The report states Davis died of blunt-force trauma to his chest and head, but the medical examiner noted that Fayetteville police didn't find a bloody object that might have been a murder weapon.
Davis' roommate told police that the two had been drinking the previous night but that he didn't hear any signs of a struggle after that, according to the report.
Family members have said they believe Davis was killed by someone he knew.
