DURHAM, N.C. — A family of four was forced to leave their home after an overnight fire.

On Monday around 1:30 a.m., firefighters with the Durham Fire Department responded to a home on Diamond Court.

At the scene, crews reported a large fire coming from the attic. More than 30 firefighters worked to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

Officials said the home had heavy smoke, fire and water damage, and a family of four -- two adults and two children -- were being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No one was injured.
