At home or in person, Durham lines up options for egg hunts

Both options are free, but families will need to pre-register to reserve a spot or supplies. Here's what's happening:

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 27, the city will host in-person hunts at West Point on the Eno and Leigh Farm Park. At each event, according to a press release, an egg hunt will begin every hour at the top of the hour. Those who find the golden egg will win a special prize, and participants 12 and under will receive a take-home activity bag. Face masks are required for all participants ages two and older.

Also on Saturday, March 27, residents and their canine friends are invited to attend the Dog-Gone Egg Hunts at West Point on the Eno, the press release says. Participants can select from two time slots at either 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Canines must meet the minimum vaccination requirements of Durham’s dog parks. Non-dog park members are allowed but must show proof of vaccination in advance or on the day of the event.

For at-home egg hunts, residents can sign up to pick up supplies at Campus Hills Recreation Center on March 25. Each participant will receive an egg hunt bag, 20 filled eggs, a craft project, coloring pages and other activities. It's designed for kids ages 12 and under.
