Arrest made in shooting death of man in Harnett County

An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a man that happened in Harnett County on May 23.

ANGIER, N.C. — An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a man that happened in Harnett County on May 23.

Deputies arrested Zachary Tyler Johnson, 23, of Raeford Road in Angier on Wednesday and charged him with first degree murder. He was taken into custody and taken before a magistrate. He remains in the Harnett County Detention Facility with no bond.

Deputies went to 15 Cater Lane in Lillington and found Montice Williams, 31, had been shot and killed. Johnson was the injured gunshot victim who was taken to the hospital.

Investigators continue to look into the shooting and what caused it.
