GREENVILLE, N.C. — A 17-year-old Greenville man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the kidnapping of a female student on East Carolina University's campus on Monday, police said.

Greenville police worked with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to nab Kaimeek Keiron Brown, of 1007 Colonial Avenue, shortly after noon.

On Monday, the student told police that a man got into her car in the on-campus parking lot at East 3rd and Reade streets, displayed a handgun and made her withdraw money from various ATMs before she managed to escape.

Brown was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree sex offense, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of stolen property. He was being held in the Pitt County jail under a $651,000 secured bond.

Police said Brown is currently on probation for property crimes.

He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
