Arrest made in 2009 armed robbery of Clayton convenience store

On May 17, 2009, a masked gunman stole cash from Sandhu's convenience store, 1225 Amelia Church Road, and left in a car stolen from a Garner church, Clayton police said.

CLAYTON, N.C. — An Angier man has been charged in the armed robbery of a Clayton convenience store in 2009. 

On May 17, 2009, a masked gunman stole cash from Sandhu's convenience store, 1225 Amelia Church Road, and left in a car stolen from a Garner church, Clayton police said.

Calvin Duwayne Banks, 32, is charged with felony armed robbery and first-degree kidnapping. He was given a $300,000 bond on the charges. 

Banks is currently in the Johnston County jail on unrelated charges.
