GOLDSBORO, N.C. — An arrest has been made 31 years after a fatal shooting in Goldsboro.

Gurman Pearsall was re-charged with murder in 1989 murder of Gino Harper.

On April 23, 1989, Goldsboro police were called to 311 Pearson St. for a report of an injured man. The resident living at the address called after finding Harper on her front porch bleeding from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Harper was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Pearsall was initially charged with murder, but the charges were never taken to a grand jury, and he was eventually released.

In February 2018, the case was reopened after new evidence was found, and Pearsall charged with murder again.

On Oct. 14, U.S. marshals took Pearsall into custody in the 100 block of Sumpter Drive in Goldsboro.

Pearsall was being held without bond at Wayne County Jail.
