Halifax County man hit on highway

A Halifax County man was hit by a car Saturday night as he stood along N.C. Highway 97 near Leggett, state troopers said.

Vance Darelle White, 25, was standing outside a car which was parked along the road. Another driver, whom troopers said didn't see White, hit him just before 8 p.m.

White was taken to Heritage Hospital.

No other details were available Sunday.
