The Johnston County Sheriff's Office was investigating the death of a Kenly man Wednesday.

James Cooper, 80, was found at about 7 p.m. Tuesday inside his home at 111 Crumpler Road, said spokeswoman Tammy Amaon.

Cooper's home had been broken into a couple of times over the past few months, according to a neighbor.

Investigators were on the scene most of the day Wednesday looking for clues.

Amaon said the cause of Cooper's death had yet to be determined. They have also not said whether anything was missing from the home.
