Severe thunderstorms move through area

Thunderstorms moving quickly through parts of the WRAL-TV viewing area have prompted severe thunderstorm warnings for some counties.

Hoke and Scotland counties are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 6 p.m. (View a list of the latest watches and warnings.)

There is potential of damaging winds in excess of 58 mph, the National Weather Service said.
