Cary police said that charges are pending against a homeowner in whose shed a bomb squad found pyrotechnics Tuesday evening.
A neighbor saw the fireworks in the shed and called police, Capt. Mike Williams said. A bomb squad removed pyrotechnics and materials used to make pyrotechnics from the shed at 106 Empire Circle.

The homeowner, who was out of town, had an expired pyrotechnics license, Williams said.
The fireworks were turned over to federal authorities, who declined to press charges, he said. Cary police were still conducting interviews Wednesday morning.
