Three separate wrecks caused traffic delays Sunday evening in Cary.
Dispatch officials said at about 7:30 p.m., at least two vehicles collided on westbound Interstate 40 near exit 290. About five minutes later, additional wrecks happened near the site of the first crash along a construction zone near Chapel Hill Road.

At least six vehicles were involved, dispatch officials said.
Two lanes of the interstate were closed while the wreckage was cleared from the road.
No serious injures were reported.
The cause of the crashes remained under investigation Sunday evening.
