Car hits tree in Cary

Cary police said that a black Saturn Ion ran off West Dynasty Drive, near Sudbury Drive, and struck a tree Saturday morning, injuring a woman.

Samuel Ewing III, 22, told police that he fell asleep at the wheel. He was OK, Sgt. A. Gazaway said.

His sister, Jessica Ewing, who was a passenger, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was listed in good condition at WakeMed.

Gazaway said that alcohol wasn't a factor in the wreck and they did not plan to file charges.
