A cold front that passed over central North Carolina overnight brought showers and storms that dropped greatly varying amounts of rain.
By 5 a.m., Raleigh had received a third of an inch of rain, but neighboring Chapel Hill hadn't gotten a measurable amount.

Goldsboro got 1.13 inches, while Clinton saw 0.42 inches and Fayetteville got only seven-hundredths of an an inch.
Showers lingered through the morning but had cleared out by midday.
Sunday and Monday will both see highs in the low to mid 80s, and a second cold front could produce some late-day showers Monday.
From there on, it "should feel very classically fall-like and autumnal this week," WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said.
Highs in the 70s and clear skies will dominate from Tuesday on. The early mornings will get chilly – commuters could be greeted by temperatures in the 40s by Thursday morning.
