I was listening to the news this morning (12/31) and Elizabeth Gardner said that the temp was -35 at Hudson Lake, Canada. I also thought it was Hudson Bay since it is open at the north side and a lake would be closed on all sides. I did find a Hudson Lake Indiana .

MIKE MOSS SAYS:       Richard,    My first guess would be that she was referring to Hudson Bay and simply misspoke, which we all do from time to time (I once intended to say on the air that some clouds on satellite didn't look too "ominous," but somehow "omnipotent" came out instead - whole different meaning there!). Like yourself, I could not find a reference to a "Hudson Lake" in Canada, and did not see an observation for such a site listed anywhere on the Environment Canada Weather Office web site.
