Some NCCU classes canceled after power outage

Power outages on the North Carolina Central University campus prompted school officials to cancel some classes for Tuesday.

Classes in the following buildings were expected to resume Wednesday: Criminal Justice, Michaux School of Education, Miller-Morgan (Nursing/Health Care) and Walker Complex.

That is contingent on power being restored, the university said in a news release. Updates were expected to be posted on the NCCU Web site.

Classes at the Turner School of Law were still scheduled for Tuesday, however, a bar course will be held in the Farrison Newton Communications Building.

An NCCU spokeswoman said the outages were the result of a problem in the university's electrical infrastructure, but workers had yet to determine the cause.
