On behalf of the City council of Raleigh all the

city staff and all the people of Raleigh it is

with joy and gratitude that we welcome you into our

city

Your commitment to the practice of peace in body and

spirit reminds us all that we too can make such

a commitment

Your example inspires us to develop a practice of inner

peace which radiates out to our community and the world

around us

As a person of faith who has become a little

bit familiar with the teachings of the Buddhist tradition I

realized that all beings human and otherwise are integrally connected

with each other in ways we can hardly imagine

What each of us embodies on the inner level and

outer level can bring peace and healing to those around

Thank you for reminding us of this indestructible truth by

your presence and thank you for inviting us to join

you in your important work

May the peace you offer us be returned to you

and to all beings everywhere many times over and sustain

all of us in our efforts to be peacemakers in

the world

I have a proclamation from the city of Raleigh

Just claiming that today January 24th this 91st day of

your journey to be the Walk for Peace Pilgrimage Day
