Warmer mornings are just part of what makes heat waves so dangerous, since there's little-to-no relief from the record-breaking heat we've seen the last two afternoons.
The National Weather Service in Raleigh posted Tuesday that the 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. temperatures were the warmest on record. However, hourly temperature records only go back to 1945.
According to this table, the 6 a.m. temperature Wednesday was the warmest recorded for that hour too.
A drop in humidity would certainly be nice, as that would drop morning temperatures.
We don't expect any significant drop in humidity levels within the next week or so.
