Three North Carolina men on a fast food run helped save two women trapped in a submerged car.

The men, who were in the right place at the right time, quickly jumped into action to rescue the women, who were in a car that fell 30 feet into a creek.

"I can't even imagine the impact of falling 30 feet, face-first on car," said Arturo Telles, one of the good Samaritans. "You're just in the front seeing that, looking down, and then you're underwater and you can't breathe, it's probably super scary."

It was a random yet perfect chain of events that lead to Telles and two other men -- Caleb Moore and Alexander Morgan -- saving a life Monday night. They had just finished working at Moore's pressure washing business.

"We were all super hungry, so I was gonna say wings, I had trouble sending the address, so I was just like let's go to Cookout," Moore said.

THEY WERE AT THE WALKUP WINDOW AT THE COOKOUT ON UNIVERSITY CITY BOULEVARD.

"We look over, its a 20/30 foot drop into a creek and the car is upside down, and they're still revving the gas."

POLICE SAY THE DRIVER'S FOOT GOT STUCK ON THE ACCELERATOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO OVER A STEEP EMBANKMENT AND INTO A CREEK.

THE GUYS SAY THEY DIDN'T HESITATE TO JUMP INTO ACTION.

Caleb Moore/Good Samaritan:

"The driver and the passenger side of the car was completely underwater."

MEANING THERE WERE NO SCREAMS OR YELLS.

THE THREE MEN SAY THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY WOULD ENCOUNTER.

Arturo Telles/Good Samaritan:

"I was pretty surprised that they weren't already gone, to be honest, they were under there for quite some time."

THE CAR WAS FILLING WITH WATER AS ITS ROOF WAS RESTING ON A SANDBAR.

Arturo Telles/Good Samaritan:

"The driver would not have been able to open the door if me and Alex were not there to open it, it was extremely hard to open."

Alexander Morgan/Good Samaritan:

"I was just feeling for something and I felt an arm, I just pulled, I just pulled and got the driver out."

BUT MOORE SAYS THE PASSENGER WAS HARDER TO RESCUE.

Caleb Moore/Good Samaritan:

"They're upside down, she's completely underwater, still with the seatbelt on her so I'm feeling around trying to unbuckle her. I get her head outside of the water, only her nose and her mouth is out of the water, I'm holding her head so she can breathe."

ADRENALINE PUMPING AND WITH SOME DIVINE INTERVENTION -- THEY SAY THEY WORKED AS A TEAM TO SAVE TWO LIVES.

Alexander Morgan/Good Samaritan:

"At the end of the whole thing, everyone said thank you Jesus, which I think is more important than anything that we give God the glory for this cause if we weren't there, who knows what could have happened, right?"
