WCNC Charlotte reports a hiker is expected to survive after falling 75 feet at Crowders Mountain on Wednesday.

The hiker fell 75 feet and was stuck on a ledge on the backside of Pinnacle Trail, according to the Gastonia Fire Department.

Crews were able to reach the hiker and lowered them approximately 150 feet to the bottom of the mountain. From there, rescue crews used over 1,200 feet of rope to get the hiker to an ambulance, which took them to Caromont Regional Medical Center.

Officials haven't identified the hiker or said what caused them to fall on the trail.
