Wakefield High School in Raleigh and Willow Spring High School in Fuquay-Varina are dismissing students early Thursday due to air conditioning problems.

Wakefield High School dismissed students at noon Thursday due to no air conditioning.

Willow Spring High School began dismissing students at 11 a.m. Thursday due to no air conditioning.

For both schools, school buses will provide a ride home to students who take the bus. Parents can pick up their students using normal procedures. Staff will remain on campus with students until they are picked up.

Students who participate in fall sports will need to communication with their coaches about practice. All other clubs, activities and meetings are canceled.

Wakefield High School is set to have an HVAC replacement in 2026.

On Wednesday, Sanderson High School in Raleigh and Wakefield Middle School dismissed students early because there was no air conditioning in the building.
