32-year-old man drowns at Raleigh Beach at Neuse River Greenway Trail

A 32-year-old man drowned Sunday afternoon at Raleigh Beach along the Neuse River in Raleigh.

Around 5:30 p.m., the Wake County Sheriff's Office responded to Raleigh Beach at the Neuse River Greenway Trail, off Loch Raven Parkway in east Raleigh.

After a two-hour search, 32-year-old Jose Manuel Ramirez was pulled from the water.

Multiple agencies, including the Wake Forest Fire Department and the Knightdale Fire Department, were involved in the recovery effort.
