I'm Brandon Twitcher with Wral here with Ashley Twitch at

the 2024 Olympic trials in Indianapolis Indiana

Ashley swam her first race this morning the 400 freestyle

How did it go It was ok

Um It's always nice to have a first swim

That's not your main event

So uh nice to get the nerves out and it's

amazing being here in a new venue

Um It's my fifth Olympic trial so my first one

not in Omaha

So it's been really fun and it's your first one

with a child Lachlan

Your two year old son is here

How is it having him here And what's the experience

like with him here Uh It's definitely a bit more

difficult logistically but it's been incredible having him here and

having him able to to see me compete

And um it's been a a really fun journey in

the past two years training and competing uh postpartum and

and with him along for the ride

So it's really fun to have him here and have

him be able to see all these incredible swimmers um

compete and fight for their chance in the Olympic team

and going forward here

You finished uh 21st in the foreign freestyle this morning

Great swim

What uh are you looking forward to as the meet

moves ahead What's your next event My next event is

the 1500 on Tuesday

And so that's definitely my main focus

Um Definitely hope to make the final in that and

compete Wednesday night in the final

Ashley thanks so much for joining us
