Raleigh police arrested a man for murder Saturday, days after a brutal assault in Glenwood South led to the death of Midwood Smokehouse's general manager.
On Saturday at 1:39 a.m., with the assistance of the Fuquay-Varina Police Department, Raleigh police arrested Tyrell Jarue Moore, 23, in connection with this case. Moore is charged with murder.

David Millette, 27, died after being assaulted on Aug. 26 at 2 a.m. in the 500 block of Glenwood Avenue.
Midwood Smokehouse co-manager Cov Deramus says he can't even begin to imagine the pain and grief that Millette's parents are experiencing.
“His parents lost their only son, so I can't even begin to fathom the amount of pain that they're feeling," Deramus said. "For me, sitting here and seeing all our stories and hearing stories about David over the years amongst our, you know, big, extended family or folks that have worked together for a long time.”
Deramus said Millette had a big heart.
“Its just like David was all about, like, taking care of people and love each other," Deramus said. "Doing things for perfect strangers and things like that.”
Deramus said Millette died Friday morning.
Raleigh Police Chief Estella Patterson said police are conducting a homicide investigation. Police have been speaking to witnesses and looking at surveillance video.
Millette was the general manager of Midwood Smokehouse, which opened in the spring at 409 West Johnson St.
Deramus also described Millette as a kind person.
“He built a great restaurant by assembling a great group of people," Deramus said of Millette. "His presence, his impact on these people was so strong that we can’t even get open today because everybody is so upset an devastated by his loss and his absence.
"It's just a huge void. It's like a family that he built."
Deramus said he also worked with Millette a few years ago to open Bad Daddy's Burger Bar at 111 Seaboard Ave.
"His energy was just infectious," Deramus said of Millette.
Midwood Smokehouse is part of the Charlotte-based FSFJ restaurant group.

City leaders said they're taking steps to make the nightlife district safer.
"We’ve got to move beyond where we are at right now," said Raleigh City Council Member Jane Harrison. "We do have these challenges, but yes, I do go downtown.
"I don’t feel unsafe, but when I hear folks having any kind of issue, to me, that’s something we have to address head on, spot on."
WRAL News asked Patterson what the police department is doing to stop violence in Glenwood South.
"We’ve increased our presence of officers down in that area," Patterson said. "We’re going to continue to do that to make sure we have vibrancy in that area, but also that it’s a safe environment."
Glenwood South Neighborhood Collaborative President Larry Miller said he feels safe in the Glenwood South district at night. Miller said the last two weekends have been an improvement with police blocking traffic from going onto Glenwood Avenue during the busy bar hours and more officers patrolling the streets.
"There’s been a larger police presence," Miller said. "There’s been a vehicle with flashing lights at every intersection."
