Bug spray recalled because can could rupture

A bug spray is being recalled because the can could rupture.

5 On Your Side reports the recall is for Maggie’s Farm Bed Bug and Flea Killer, specifically the 14 ounce cans with UPC: 811249020540 and Lot #: 0101325.

The UPC is printed on the rear label below the barcode. The lot code is printed on the bottom of the can.

The cans are green with a red target and bar and Maggie’s Farm logo.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the cans can expel shrapnel, posing injury and laceration hazards to consumers. In addition, leakage of contents can pose a risk of skin and eye irritation upon contact.

There have been four reports of cans exploding, but thankfully no one has been hurt.

If you’ve got one of these, take a photo of the can and lot code and throw it out.
