Fall is here and so is the spookiest month of the year.

There will be plenty going on this month, and we have some things in mind to let your inner nerd enjoy some tricks and treats.

Here are some of the nerdy, geeky and retro things to check out around the Triangle for the month of October.

Spook-tacular popups

If you need some fun local shops to support, Geek and Grub Markethas just the thing.

The Geek and Grub Market will a Halloween edition of the market on Saturday, October 21. Dress up in costume, enjoy geektastic food and shops and their free haunted house.

The market will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Fred Fletcher Park on 820 Clay St. in downtown Raleigh and is free to the public.

Just a week later, the Raleigh Retro Gamers will host a Halloween pop-up of there own.

RRG is hosting another Triangle Town Market at Triangle Town Center in Raleigh on October 28.

There will be prizes for the best costume, Halloween themed vendors and gaming tournaments as well.

The market runs from noon to 5 p.m. and is free to the public as well.

Sing your ghoulish heart out at Rewind

Rewind Retro Bar will be hosting multiple events throughout the month of October, and there will be plenty to do for everyone

The first will be a Retro Car meet up with Triangle RAD on October 18 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Wild Mojo's food truck will be available for food.

The following week, Rewind a four-day stretch of ghoulish events and activities, including;

  • Halloween-themed trivia: Oct. 26, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    • Favorite Cartoon Character Halloween: Oct. 27, 7 p.m. to midnight
      • Halloween Brunch with Herchefness: Oct. 28, noon to 2 p.m.
        • A Rock n' Roll Halloween Karaokee night: Oct. 28, 7 p.m to Midnight
          • Family-friendly video game character Halloween: Oct. 29, noon to 4 p.m.

            Additionally, the bar will host Music Bingo on October 5 and 19 starting at 7 p.m.

            New location, same Hidden Block

            Hidden Block is moving locations

            Previously tucked away in a renovated storage unit on Departure Drive, Hidden Block games will be opening their new store location in October.

            Their new location will be at 2409 Crabtree Boulevard, Suite 103 in Raleigh. The store will also have a new schedule starting on October 14.

            Until the new location opens, however, Hidden Block will be closed while they get things ready.

            Spooky Video Game Tournaments

            The North Carolina Eclectic Esports will host numerous video gaming tournaments throughout October.

            Up first is their monthly fighting game potluck, running on October 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the North Carolina Esports Academy.

            Next up, the group will host multiple tournaments at Bad Machines esports Bar in Durham:

            • Mario Party Minigames Superstars Tournament: Oct. 8 and Oct. 22, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
              • Among Us Tournament: Oct. 8 and Oct. 22, 9 p.m .to 10:30 p.m.
                • Mario Kart Tournament: Oct. 13 and Oct. 27, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
                  • Weekly Community College Video Game Tournament: Oct. 5, Oct. 11, Oct. 19. and Oct. 25, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

                    Lastly, Bad Machines and North Carolina Eclectic Esports will host a Halloween party on October 28. Time and details of the event are still being determined.
