Silver Alert: Man reported missing from Chapel Hill

The Chatham County Sheriff's Office on Monday asked for help to locate a man last seen on Sunday night.

Douglas Whipple's family reported him missing after he left his Chapel Hill home around 9 p.m. He was driving a 2012 silver Toyota Prius with North Carolina license plate FCR8374 and was believed to be headed to McDonald's in North Chatham Village.

According to family members, Whipple, 74, is hearing impaired and has dementia. He is a white man, with white hair and a mustache. Whipple has hazel eyes and was wearing a gray and green pullover jacket, denim shorts and loafers.
