A woman died Friday in a massive fire in Harnett County.
Firefighters responded to the home on Red Hill Church Road around 1 a.m. Sky 5 flew over the scene at 6:30 a.m. The flames were extinguished at that time but the home was still smoking, and the roof had collapsed.

Firefighters said a man escaped the fire, but his wife died.
A pickup truck and another car outside the home were charred, and the home appeared to be a total loss.
It took firefighters around an hour to control the flames. At 7 a.m., firefighters were still on scene to watch hot spots.
The American Red Cross and firefighters were on scene.
